The American Depress card is a parody of the American Express credit card, made of the same material and size as an original AMEX card.

The Banksy stamp on the back of Dismaland and the fake American Express card altered to read American Depress are a prime example of D*Face's iconic humor, playing on the problems of everyday consumers.

This perspex screen print was created in 2008 for an exhibition he held in London.

Dean Stockton, better known as D*Face, creates punchy and irreverent paintings, prints, sculptures and murals that satirize popular culture. He takes aim at targets ranging from mainstream consumerism to the American dream. With his pop aesthetic, D * Face references cartoon characters such as Mickey and celebrities such as Kurt Cobain, loading instantly recognizable icons with significance to touch on death, excess and greed. The artist cites New York's graffiti and skateboarding cultures as formative influences, and his work sometimes evokes the styles of Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. D * Face has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Barcelona, Paris, Melbourne, Tokyo and Taipei, and his public works can be found in many other cities. He has also produced numerous collaborations with brands including Haig Club, Triumph Motorcycles, Indian Motorcycle, Uniqlo and Zippo.
